Reactions and attitudes of experts in treatment of women victims of violence

This research was conducted by SeConS within „Integrated response to violence against women in Vojvodina – Phase 2” project. In the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, this project is implemented by the Provincial Secretariat for Social Policy, Demography and Gender Equality in cooperation with the United Nations Agency for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (UN Women).

The aim of the research was to determine the practices, understandings and attitudes of employees in relevant institutions and organizations that provide services to women victims of violence. The focus was primarily on the organizations who work with the vulnerable groups (i.e. women from rural areas, Roma women and women with disabilities), as well as with women who suffered specific forms of violence (i.e. all types of sexual violence). Based on the results of the research, trainings for experts from the support and protection system for women victims of violence were designed.

The survey comprised institutions and organizations from all sectors within protection and support system for women victims of violence, such as social protection, police, health, education, prosecution, judiciary and non-governmental sector, in ten municipalities in the territory of AP Vojvodina: Beocin, Plandiste, Irig, Senta, Novi Knezevac, Zitiste, Ruma, Temerin, Vrsac and Stara Pazova.
