At the initiative of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the Coordination Body for Gender Equality and the Corridor of Serbia, the study on “Gender in Transport in Serbia” was started. The study is being conducted to identify mobility models and gender-related barriers to accessibility for different modes of transport. The findings of this study should serve as a basis for developing recommendations and action plans that will be integrated into the national transport strategy of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.
The project covers the following activities:
– A representative survey on mobility behaviour in Serbia, based on a sample of 2400 adult citizens
– Spatial analyses on accessibility for Serbia
– Development of action plans for awareness raising on strengthening gender equality in the Serbian transport sector
– Presentation and discussion of results on stakeholder workshops.
