SeConS – Development Initiative Group conducted the first Population Situation Analysis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The analysis was conducted in order to present the main population characteristics, trends and population challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as their impact on poverty, socio-economic development and inequalities. In conducting the analysis, a multidisciplinary expert team was recruited that included experts in various fields (demographers, sociologists, physicians, public health experts, gynecologists and data management experts).
The analysis was conducted at the level of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as at the administrative level of the Entities and at the State level. Based on the findings, the expert team made recommendations to relevant decision makers for further development of programs and public policies. The study is a source of data for further program and policy planning in the coming period.
